Jian Guo has been working as an architectural designer since his graduation, He works as a freelance illustrator and designer in spare time. “I searched inspritions from movies and games respectively and was invited to showcase my artworks on the Blizzard official website for several times as the most recognized inoffical illustrator related to World of Warcraft. In recent years, I have been immersed in creations of the glass painting style artworks among which the recreation of Lord of the Rings series won me many honors. My first contact to the trilogy was when the movie directed by Peter Jackson was on the show in 2002, I read the Lord of the Rings and the Hobits books after I saw the movie. I doodled some pictures for fun, much to the visual effect of the movie than to substantial appreciation for the masterpiece itself. I gained a more profound understanding though extensive reading later, now I would read the novel every 2 years, whenever I read it I will forget time passing and keep reading thoughout the whole night.
Then I had a chance to know the glass painting style and felt it must be great If I adopt this style to tell a story because it was endowed with a sense of religious magnificence yet the plot is usually unsophisticated, with reasonable arrange of the images, a chapter from the book could be represented in a single picture.” Jian Guo

Lament of Evening Star: As told in “The Tale of Aragorn and Arwen”, Aragorn in his twentieth year met Arwen for the first time in Rivendell, where he lived under Elrond’s protection. Arwen, then over 2700 years old, had recently returned to her father’s home after living for a while with her grandmother Lady Galadriel in Lórien. Aragorn fell in love with Arwen at first sight. Some thirty years later, the two were reunited in Lórien. Arwen reciprocated Aragorn’s love, and on the mound of Cerin Amroth they committed themselves to marry one another.
After the War of the Ring, Aragorn became king of Arnor and Gondor. Arwen arrived at Minas Tirith, and they were married.
Her few appearances in the book suggest that Arwen is a minor character in The Lord of the Rings; but she serves as inspiration and motivation for Aragorn, who, as Elrond stipulated, must become King of both Arnor and Gondor before he could wed her.
The Tale of Aragorn and Arwen relates that Arwen had a son, Eldarion, and at least two unnamed daughters by Aragorn. In F.A. 121, one year after Aragorn’s death, at the age of 2901 she gave up her life at Cerin Amroth.
Palace of King Theoden: As the King of Rohan.Théoden was growing weak with age, and was largely controlled by his chief advisor Gríma, who was secretly in the employ of the corrupt wizard Saruman. In Unfinished Tales, it is implied that Gríma was accelerating the king’s decline with “subtle poisons”. As Théoden sat powerless, Rohan was troubled by Orcs and Dunlendings, who operated under the will of Saruman, ruling from Isengard.
When his son Théodred was mortally wounded at a battle at the Fords of Isen, Théoden’s nephew Éomer became his heir. However, Éomer was out of favour with Wormtongue, who eventually had him arrested. When Gandalf the White and Aragorn appeared before him , Théoden initially rebuffed the wizard’s advice to ride out against Saruman. When Gandalf revealed Wormtongue for what he was, however, Théoden returned to his senses. He restored his nephew, took up his sword Herugrim, and in spite of his age, led the Riders of Rohan into the Battle of the Hornburg. After this he became known as Théoden Ednew, the Renewed.
I am no man: During the Battle of the Pelennor Fields, the Witch-king himself was slain by Éowyn and Merry: Merry’s surreptitious stroke with an enchanted Barrow-blade drove the Witch-king to his knees, allowing Éowyn, the niece of Théoden, to drive her sword between his crown and mantle. Thus was the Witch-king destroyed by a woman and a Hobbit, fulfilling the prophecy that “not by the hand of man will he fall”.Both weapons that pierced him disintegrated, and both assailants were stricken with the Black Breath.
Grey Havens: What can you see on the horizon? Why do the white gulls call? Across the sea, a pale moon rises, The ships have come to carry you home.During the Fourth Age, it was one of the last Elven havens as the remaining Elves of Rivendell and Lothlórien left Middle-earth. In the beginning of the first century, Fourth Age, it experienced a population growth as migrants from the east came to Mithlond. Not all Elves left Middle-earth immediately, many of the migrants made long-term temporary settlements. Aside from Elves, Gandalf, Bilbo Baggins and Frodo Baggins also went to Valinor from the Grey Havens, and a family tradition held that Samwise Gamgee, having been himself a Ring-bearer, albeit briefly, did likewise, in the year 1482 of the Shire Reckoning, Fourth Age 61. It was also told in the Red Book of Westmarch, that after Aragorn’s death Legolas built a grey ship and left Middle-earth to go to Valinor, and that Gimli went with him.
Nest of Smaug: “Revenge! Revenge! The King under the Mountain is dead and where are his kin that dare seek revenge? Girion Lord of Dale is dead, and I have eaten his people like wolf among sheep. And where are his sons’ sons that dare approach me? I kill where I wish and none dare resist.”—Smaug
“My armour is like tenfold shields, my teeth are swords, my claws spears, the shock of my tail is a thunderbolt, my wings a hurricane, and my breath death!”—Smaug
River of Bruinen: The Witch-king and the other Nazgûl rode from Mordor and Dol Guldur searching for the Shire. Four entered the Shire, and found that “Baggins” had moved to Buckland. Several Nazgûl attacked Gandalf onWeathertop and tried to ambush Frodo Baggins in Buckland and at Bree. Five, including the Witch-king, finally found Frodo on Weathertop with the other hobbits, accompanied by the Ranger Aragorn. The Ringwraiths attacked the party, and the Witch-king wounded Frodo with a Morgul-blade. Frodo’s wound threatened to turn him into a wraith under the control of the Nazgûl. As the company made for Rivendell, the realm of Elrond Half-elven, they met Glorfindel, who loaned Frodo his horse Asfaloth. Pursued by all nine Nazgûl, the horse carried Frodo across the River Bruinen. From the far bank Frodo defied the Nazgûl. When the Witch-king rode into the water, Elrond, who controlled the river, released a flood that caught three Nazgûl and their horses. Glorfindel advanced and drove the terrified horses of the remaining Nazgûl into the flood. The horses drowned, and all nine Nazgûl were swept away.
Tom, Bert, and William: When Bilbo tried to pick William’s pocket to test his skill as a burglar, William’s purse squealed, alerting him. The trio of Trolls captured Bilbo who, almost revealing himself as a burglar, identified himself as a “bur—a hobbit”, which they mistook for a “burrahobbit”. Eventually all of the dwarves in Thorin’s company came looking for Bilbo, and were waylaid by the trolls and put into sacks. The trolls then discussed ways to kill and eat the dwarves, until Gandalf came and mimicked the Trolls’ voices, starting a fight amongst them. He kept them arguing about how to cook the dwarves until dawn came, and the Sun turned them into stone before they could get to cover. Afterward, Thorin and Company found and explored Tom, Bert, and William’s cave.
